Selling Green Applicators
Both professionals and consumers are interested in eco-friendly products ... but demand quality. They expect products to perform as well as non-green products. They look to brands they trust such as ours to lead efforts in developing quality eco-friendly products.
They are willing to pay more for an environmentally sound product IF it saves them money in the long run or the products provide health advantages. Merchandise complementary eco-friendly products together and be sure to emphasize any economic or health benefits associated with using these special products.
Your customers need to be educated about eco-friendly products. They are skeptical about products that positioned as "green", but are only superficially green. We use different types of materials in our lines. Here are the variations:
- Recycled - Material that was once used as something else and has been made into something new through a recycling process. Term "recycled" refers to both pre- and post-consumer waste.
- Post-Consumer Waste - These are items that have reached their end use in the marketplace, have been placed in a recycling bin, sent to a waste collection facility and sorted by type, and then sent to reclamation sites. Our EcoPro™ brush packaging is made of 100% post-consumer waste and our EarthTones™ by Quick Solutions® paintbrush handles are made of 50%+ post-consumer waste.
- Pre-Consumer Waste - These are items that have not reached their end use in the marketplace. This could include scrap material generated during the manufacturing process, or unsold paper items like magazines or books that are returned (unsold) to the manufacturer. Our recycled black nylon filament is recycled by Dupont and used in both of our eco-friendly brush lines.
- Recyclable - Any material which can be recycled and made into something new through a recycling process. Our roller cover sleeves and 3-pack bags are made of 100% recyclable plastic.
- Biodegradable - Material decomposes naturally in the environment. Our paint trays are made from a recycled molded pulp fiber used for egg cartons and fast food, and will decompose in approximately 4-6 months.
- Sustainable - Any materials available in nature in which its use does not affect its balance. Bamboo and Beech are examples of this ... they replenish themselves and reaches maturity in 4 years (vs. the typical 25 to 70 years for commercial tree species in the U.S). Our EcoPro™ paintbrush handles are made of FSC Certified sustainable Beechwood material.
